Matt King Employee Spotlight
Tell us about yourself.
I’m a member of our sales team based on the east coast where I spend most of my time in and around the Green Mountains of Vermont and Seacoast of New Hampshire. I’m originally from New Hampshire, and after a cross-country trip visiting our National Parks, I really appreciate all the many different areas that offer something different and all those amazing places that we have access to. I enjoy a lot of outdoor activities, and having been involved with coaching baseball and hockey while keeping up with my two sons (who I can’t really keep up with anymore!).
What is your role at Liberty Mountain?
I get to work with a range of great customers from large to small, and a variety of brand partners, as the Business Development Manager and as part of our sales management team. I’ve had the good fortune to work with so many great people in our industry all over the USA and Internationally!

What is a typical day in the life like for you at Liberty Mountain?
A typical day can be so many things… it can range from reviewing orders, checking inventory and gathering item data, to coordinating with our buying team on a new product introduction, or with our shipping and accounting team on an international export. Particularly, working with and discussing great partnership opportunities with our awesome customers – virtually, in-person, and at tradeshows.
What are some of your favorite outdoor activities?
Two wheels is at the top… mountain biking, road riding, gravel grinding. Skiing in the winter, and being on the water in the summer kayaking/SUP’ing.
What is your favorite outdoor area?
Saxon Hill MTB trails, Indian Brook Reservoir, Underhill and Ricker Pond State Parks. Favorite is plural right? ;)
What is your dream vacation spot?
Italy and Spain. Bucket list: Tour du Mont Blanc
What are your favorite music genres/artists?
None specific, I like great songs across many genres/artists.
What are other activities that you enjoy doing that aren’t outdoors?
The occasional neighborhood music jam session.
What gear from Liberty Mountain are you loving?
Outdoor Designs Diablo glove – perfect for cooler temps when you want warmth and dexterity: skiing/hiking/biking. They really do “fit like a glove”.
Liberty Mountain is lucky to have Matt as an employee going on 13 years. He came on board during the Peregrine/Liberty Mountain merger in 2011. He has decades of knowledge and experiences in the outdoor industry. Matt’s entrepreneurial mindset has created many new business opportunities which have contributed greatly to the success of Liberty Mountain over the years. He is a great team player - anyone who has met Matt knows he is one of the kindest individuals. So fortunate to have him as part of the team!
